About this reel
The reel begins by questioning why confident individuals are frequently incorrect and introduces the groundbreaking research from 1999 by two psychologists. Scenes depict the experiment where participants rated their performance, revealing that those who performed poorly rated themselves highly above average. The video then delves into how skills needed to do something well also enable recognizing mistakes, leading to inflated self-assessments among less competent individuals. It contrasts this with true experts who doubt themselves due to their understanding of their own limitations. The mood is contemplative and thought-provoking, ideal for viewers interested in psychology and cognitive biases.
